Annual "State-of-JGA" message
12/2/1992 By Jon Goldman, Jon Goldman Associates, Orange, CA, USA

Dear friends, colleagues, fellow hot-wall groupies:

Whether you're part of a large business or a small one as we are, this past year was a tough one. Queen Elizabeth recently expressed sentiments similar to my own when she said, "1992 is not a year I'll look back on fondly." Running a business during a recession at least helps to build character. Many of us now have a lot more character.

1993 promises to be a better year for business. At least, things seem to be starting off that way. We have plans to continue augmenting the CFM (Continuous Furnace Monitor), including a major new release (CFM-4) and several other optional enhancements. We'll keep you posted.

It seems hot-wall has gone from horizontal to vertical faster than anyone predicted. Personally, I always thought a 45 degree furnace orientation was optimal - best of both, hedge your bets, etc. The installed base still well over 90 percent horizontal, though, and it appears that doing it the traditional way still provides satisfactory results - and a few business opportunities.

As in the past, thank you for your continued support and encouragement. Give us a call or drop by if you're in Southern CA.

Have a happy and safe holiday season, and as Madonna might say, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

Best regards,
Jon Goldman
