Jon Goldman Associates Enters Joint Development Agreement with TEL

Orange, CA - January 1999 - Jon Goldman Associates (JGA), manufacturer of software based information management systems for the semiconductor industry, entered into a joint-development agreement with semiconductor equipment manufacturer, Tokyo Electron Limited. (TEL), Tokyo, Japan. The new agreement will integrate JGA's SPC Trends software, Trends 2000, into the next generation of TEL's WAVES and AGC (Advanced Group Controller) furnace controllers. The new application, which will use Microsoft's Windows NT as the operating platform, is expected to be released with TEL's next furnace controller family. The software package will dramatically enhance the semiconductor manufacturer's ability to control production through the use of sophisticated Input Parameter SPC data.

The parameters to be tracked are selected using the TrendSetter utility, which allows the user to query the system for critical process indicators such as temperature, pressure and power consumption. The resulting information is displayed using the trendviewer utility, which enables the viewer to manipulate data to better understand the production process and the equipment. Trends 2000 automates standard SPC calculations and tests for Western Electric Rule conformity.

"We have been working closely with TEL to develop a software to make their furnaces even more state-of-the-art by providing easy to use software to monitor the manufacturing process, analyze and output SPC data, and predict outcomes and trends of the process," states JGA President, Jon Goldman. "Our Trends 2000 software will be used on all TEL Furnace AGC systems."

Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), established in 1963, is a leading supplier of semiconductor production equipment worldwide and the largest manufacturer of furnaces with revenues in excess of 4.0 billion dollars.

Jon Goldman Associates, based in Orange, CA, has been providing data mining software solutions to the semiconductor industry for over ten years. Founder and President Dr. Jon Goldman has been serving the semiconductor industry for more than 25 years. He is the holder of several patents, including LPCVD deposition of Silicon Nitride, LTO, and BPSG. JGA's data analysis tools are widely used in the industry by both end users and equipment manufacturers to reduce down time and wafer scrap by implementing and improving SPC control.
