Sonora, CA - July 8, 2003 - MRL Industries,
a global manufacturer and innovator of thermal processing
systems and heating elements for the semiconductor, industrial,
and research markets announced that it has entered into a
joint development agreement with Jon Goldman Associates, Inc.,
located in Orange, CA. JGA is a manufacturer of Windows-based
data capture, analysis, and process control software for diffusion
furnaces and other semiconductor equipment. The companies
will join technologies to provide total control solutions
for furnaces used in the manufacture of semiconductors.
JGA's data capture, analysis, and process control
software will work in conjunction with the new MRL tube level
controllers to provide a product that can totally control,
monitor, and manage the diffusion process. The software runs
on Windows XP and includes a user-friendly graphical management
interface. The control system will provide adaptive control
for process engineers and operators to ensure tool reliability.
President of MRL Pontus Nilsson said, "MRL is
well known for its heating elements and furnace systems. It
is important to give our customers a complete furnace system,
equipped with a state-of-the-art controller and efficient,
easy-to-use PC-based Host software. JGA has already developed
a superior software product and is experienced in host management
systems. We are excited to be working together to develop
a complete system to offer our customers."
"We are pleased to be working with a company
as well known and respected in the industry as MRL," said
JGA president and founder Jon Goldman. "As a small engineering-oriented
company, working with MRL benefits JGA by giving us much better
market penetration than we could achieve individually. This
partnership will benefit MRL by broadening their product offerings,
allowing them to serve their customers better, and by reducing
the time-to-market for their new controllers by making use
of our existing software libraries."

owned by Sandvik, Inc. and is a leading provider of quality
horizontal thermal processing systems and heating elements
for the semiconductor and industrial heating marketplaces.
